LGG Youth Month 2025 Feature

From Farms to Mining Skies
At just 22, Hanru has already taken flight—literally and professionally. Starting out as an agricultural drone pilot on farms across South Africa, Hanru’s career soared when he joined Life & Earth at Life Green Group in March 2024.
The reason behind the shift? Opportunity.
“I was drawn to Life Green Group’s focus on advancing drone technology in mining,” Hanru says. “This industry is moving fast. Every year brings bigger, faster, and more efficient drones.”
With a drone pilot license and aerial application PCO certification under his belt, he’s perfectly equipped to be part of the revolution.
Always One Step Ahead
Each workday brings something new—and that’s exactly what drives him.
“In this industry, you must be ready to evolve. I love learning and staying ahead of the curve,” Hanru explains. Whether it’s upgrading tech or fine-tuning skills, his commitment to progress is clear.
And for Hanru, growth isn’t just technical—it’s personal. “Every challenge has taught me the value of hard work and persistence. When you commit fully, progress becomes inevitable.”
Inspired by LGG Youth Month 2025
Youth Month holds deep meaning for Hanru. “It’s about fresh thinking, ambition, and the bold energy young professionals bring,” he says. “In drone tech, young minds are leading the change—adapting fast, breaking boundaries, and shaping what’s next.”
He believes that recognising young talent isn’t just about celebration—it’s about building momentum and inspiring the next wave of innovators.
Proud of the Path He’s Carved
Transitioning from agriculture to mining drones was no small feat—but it’s one Hanru is proud of. “It took dedication, and I’m proud to contribute to a sector that’s growing rapidly and full of potential.”
Hanru’s story is a perfect example of the spirit behind LGG Youth Month 2025: bold steps, fresh ideas, and a future powered by innovation.
