School Landscaping Company

Life Landscapes takes a proudly South African approach to school gardens and promotes environments that are conducive to helping children learn, grow and thrive. We focus on water-wise and indigenous gardens and can assist with food gardens.

Trees are an important aspect of school gardens, providing shade, shelter and climbing fun for young minds and bodies to grow and develop. Safety is always a priority and this extends to plant choices, trees, sports fields and playground equipment. Life Landscapes also has the capacity to manage school water features and fish ponds, keeping them filled with fish and amphibians. We are also able to manage and install any school farmyards, jungle gyms and sandpits. Life Green Group, through our division Life Sports Turf, can also maintain and upgrade cricket pitches, sports fields, AstroTurf, tennis courts and jungle gyms.

School Lanscaping Company

We believe a garden is an extension of biology class. The Life Landscape staff are more than willing to work with teachers and pupils on class projects, and can assist with:

  • career days;
  • motivational speaking and talks on sustainable gardening methods;
  • owl boxes and bird nests;
  • providing seeds to grow in class;
  • school vegetable gardens;
  • Spring Day, Earth Day, World Environment Day and Arbor Week activities;
  • sustainable gardening systems, such as composting and Bokashi; and
  • worm farms.

Children’s safety is of the utmost importance to us. On request, all Life Landscapes staff can present a police clearance number. We are also educated gardeners and will remove any poisonous plants or trees that occur on the premises, such as oleander (Nerium oleander), deadly nightshade (Atropa belladonna) and castor beans (Ricinus communis). These plants are fatal should any child ingest them.

Life Landscapes maintains and enhances the gardens of these award-winning school gardens:
