At Life Green Group, we believe in growing people along with plants. Kanego Candy Manyama, who works at our Life Landscapes Pretoria branch, is a great example of how passion, hard work, and patience can lead to real progress. Her journey from gardener to supervisor shows how green careers can grow.

A Love for Gardening

Kanego chose this career because of her love for gardening. She enjoys seeing plants grow and finds peace in nature. That joy is what first brought her into the green industry.

From Setback to Comeback

After working at Life Green Group for several years, Kanego had to leave her job for a short time. But she didn’t stay away long. When she returned, she focused on learning, growing, and doing her best. A few months later, she was promoted to Supervisor.

One of her proudest moments was being given responsibility for a big site—Bridgestone.

New Role, New Challenges

Becoming a supervisor brought new challenges. One of the hardest moments came early in her promotion. She had to handle a very difficult situation with one of her team members. It was not easy, but she learned how to lead with care, patience, and strength.

What Youth Month Means to Her

For Kanego, Youth Month is about more than celebration. It’s about remembering the brave young people who fought for freedom and justice in South Africa.

“It’s a time to honour and reflect on their sacrifices,” she says, especially those from the 1976 Soweto Uprising.

A Story of Growth

Kanego’s journey reminds us that green careers are not just about landscapes—they’re about people. At Life Green Group, we are proud to support her story and the growth she represents.
